Canadian Jiu-Jitsu Association 14th Annual National Tournament

National Tournament

A very big thanks to everyone who helped at our CJA National tournament at Martin Grove Collegiate in Etobicoke. Without all the volunteers this event would be impossible to run. Once again congratulations to all our Pro-Spar competitors, “you done well”! In total we won 40 medals, 10 gold, 14 silver, 16 bronze, The results were as follows:

We did not have a super heavy weight so Andrew fought in the the heavy weight division. His competitor was 45 pounds heavier.

Grappling - Andrew was the only one who fought the US and his opponent was 48 pounds heavier. Andrew submitted him in 15 seconds in the first fight and 45 seconds in the second fight.

Canadian Championships

On May 23rd 2009, Pro-Spar Martial Arts Centre sent a team of fighters to Hamilton Ontario to compete in the Canadian Championships. The tournament consisted of both Sport and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. From the team of thirteen they won 6 Gold, 8 Silver and 6 Bronze trophies. Congratulations to all our fighters “you were amazing”.
